Miyako Pleines is a Japanese and German American writer based outside Chicago. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Northwestern University and a BA in Creative Writing from Knox College. Her work has appeared in Literary Hub, Catapult, Electric Literature, and elsewhere. She is a regular contributor to the Ploughshares blog, and her work has been chosen for Best of the Net and included amongst Best American Essays‘ notable works.
